Tarangire National Park is one of the larger parks in the area. It covers an area of approximately 2600 square kilometers. These best months to visit the park are June to October when a spectacular view of the wild population can be seen. Particularly during this time, Tarangire is second only to the Serengeti in number and variety of wildlife. Of particular interest here is the large number of elephant and giraffes, as well as migrating wildebeest, antelope and gazelles.
Accommodation can be made in either tent sites or in the lodge. Tarangire is not directly on the way to the Serengeti and is sometimes omitted by those with limited time.
All prices include all park fees, salaries of guides/porters/cook, all meals during the safari, equipment and transfer to/from Arusha or Moshi. Our Land Rovers seat 4-6 people. Smaller groups may request a private Land Rover for an additional fee. Tips and items of a personal nature are not included.
Lodge safaris are significantly more expensive and require advance booking (up to five months for the most popular lodges). Prices also vary according to location, amenities and season.
